It is discretionary authority of visa officer to assess suitability of application according to prescribed visa requirement however these visa requirement change very swiftly. There is always a risk that visa officer may not be able to comprehend some documents provided from a foreign country and can refuse visa. However some countries allow refused applicants to lodge a decision against refusal of visa by submitting appeal or review. Proper handling of such refusal cases and amend unfair decisions.

Handling of appeal applications require more involved documentation than the first time to compel and convince the visa officer to have a fresh look at the case. Before applying for the appeal therefore visa rejection reason should be identified properly for positive result.

Currently full right of Appeal is only given against refusals decisions in following visa categories of UK:

  1.  Family Visit (Close Relatives only)
  2.  Settlement Visa (Spouse as a Sponsor)

It is important to note deadline to appeal is only 28 calendar days from the date you received your Notice of Decision. In exceptional circumstance period can be extended but you have to make written request in this regard. Any document you are providing with appeal forms must signed by applicant and should be in English or accompanied by a certified translation.
Please note if you have addressed the reasons for the original refusal then you can reapply also but if you have submitted appeal then decision will be reviewed in conjunction with your grounds of appeal. If you are going to opt appeal hearing you must have provide any additional documentation which addresses the reasons for refusal.

Applicants refused under student-category, Work Permit holder / Tier-1 (Entrepreneur), Visitor (Student-visitor, Medical-visitor, Business-visitor, Academic-visitor) are allowed to file one Administrative Review petition.
There are not charges to file admin review. Entry Clearance Manager is authority to amend or retain decision of refusal based on justification provided in review.

Please note while going to file administrative review that;
No new documentary evidence are allowed unless the visa officer refuse applicant by alleging that any document or information provided with visa application was forged or misleading like financial documents or hiding or previous visa history of travelling or applying visa.
